Omg i didn't know you played journey, i love that game, i get game informer and after reading the reviews i had to play it through all the tries and playing i fell in love with it, it truly is a beautiful game my favorite track in the game is called apotheosis, i wen't gaga at the end on the mountain when you ascend the clouds it's almost like you're going to heaven and the ending when you walk into the light it's just breath taking, you my lady have good tastes ~ ,

So I was playing Journey again and I just..can I just gush about how much I love this game..? Like seriously, if you haven’t played this game, you need to play it. Journey is an emotional experience, and it just never ceases to amaze me. It is a work of art that you live and play.

I was hooked the moment I started up its demo; I just had to have it. Everything about this game is wonderful, and if it’s anything that inspires me to learn how to draw decent looking backgrounds it is Journey. The atmosphere, the environments, the effects, the soundtrack, everything is just breathtaking! Not to mention the characters are little cutie pies!!

I still remember the first time I ever completed my journey. That mysterious stranger I met in the second level. I always have a hard time playing online games with others because I get nervous that I’m going to screw up! But my partner was very patient with me as I was learning! I could tell he/she was more experienced than me at this game (by the number of stripes on his cloak). They showed me where most of the symbols were to upgrade my scarf, made sure I didn’t get lost in the massive desert, kept me away from trouble by showing me the safer routes. I just..they genuinely were looking out for me. Over the course of the levels I felt like I sort of had a bond with this person. This person was my partner. We were making this journey together, and no matter the set backs, we pushed on.

Spoilers below the Read More (also it’s kinda long xD)

I adored the sand-surfing level. Not only was it gorgeous, spectacular, amazing, but it’s also the most fun! (imo). My partner and I stuck together as we followed the slopes. We jumped over each other, made zigzags in the sand as we weaved back and forth around each other. I was sad when the level was over because I was having such a good time with them!

Once we had trekked through the dangerous ruins and got to the final level (the snowy mountain), I was pretty much attached to this person. We would walk along our merry way, singing our little notes as we began to ascend the mountain side; however, I started to notice our singing was getting weaker, and I panicked when I saw my partners scarf was being eaten away by the frost. For the rest of the journey we stuck by each other, shoulder to shoulder, for warmth and safety.

Things were starting to get rough as we began our pass along the wall where the wind was tossing us around. My partner never went ahead of me, and if we got separated they waited on me to catch up. I eventually was blown off the passageway, and I rapidly mashed the O button, frantic for my partner to hear my quiet singing. I wanted them to know I was coming! I just didn’t know where to go! Eventually, I did find my way up and there my partner was waiting for me. Reunited, we hopped around each other in one final celebration before we began our march up the steep, snowy slope.

If you could only feel the whirlwind of emotions I was feeling at this point. I was so worried for my partner when our characters started to slow down. “Oh no. no. NO THIS ISN’T HAPPENING” I thought. I tried in vain to huddle next to my buddy. I wanted to keep them warm! If I fell I wanted them to keep going!! Do you know I bursted into tears when I saw my partner collapse into the snow. I made it up just far enough to fall next to them. “We began this thing together, so if we’re going to meet our end, it’s going to be together..”

Needless to say I was overjoyed when we were united once more in the final stretch! This was it!! We were almost there!! I smiled like a goof through the entirety of this level, but continued to cry just from the beauty of it all. Never has a game affected me like this. It was just so..magical and uplifting after the tragedy I had just suffered of seeing my partner die in front of me. Yet, here we were again flying around each other, singing our notes loud and joyfully to one another! It only really set in that this was the end of our time together once our characters had settled on the solemn little mountain side. There was our goal in front of us and yet I couldn’t help but feel sad. Here was this person I had grown so attached to, that I had experienced the whole game with, and after this moment I wouldn’t ever see them again.

The moment was fittingly quiet when we began our short walk to the end. As if to reassure me, however, my partner began singing some quiet notes and making zigzags in the snow just like we had in the sand. A smile came over my face and I followed suit. The two of us went through the pass together and thus our journey finally came to its end.

I’ll never forget my first Journey partner. They helped make it so wonderful and special that I’ll cherish the memories always. My only regret is that I couldn’t add them to my PSN friend list because I had stuck around in the second level so long that a lot of people passed through, and I couldn’t pick out their name from the list…

Journey is a game I definitely recommend getting if you haven’t already. Just the experience of it..it’ll blow you away.
